HONEY SAUCE
Proverbs 11:1 The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.
On our 40th wedding anniversary vacation to the Deep South, Lila and I stopped for a meal at one of the famous fast food franchises. To compliment our meal there was a packet of “Honey Sauce” available. “Honey Sauce” I thought, I have never heard honey called that before. Well it looked like honey, was thick like honey, and it was sweet like honey but as I read the package it listed the ingredients as high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, sugar, honey and caramel color. WOW! Now I know why they called it “sauce”. As I read further it said the packet contained 11% honey.
Here was something that had all the appearance of being authentic. It even used the authentic name for its label.
And it made me wonder if those around us see us as a Christian because we look like one and we talk like one but does God see us as “Honey Sauce”???
